New Search Documentation Confirmation tab on Faculty and Staff Hiring Proposals in PeopleAdmin

The Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity (AAEO) office within the Division of Human Resource Services would like to announce to all PeopleAdmin users that a new tab was recently added to the Hiring Proposals of Faculty and Staff. This new tab is titled “Search Documentation Confirmation” and is the first tab on Faculty and Staff Hiring Proposals. The purpose of this tab is to help departments be mindful of ensuring that any and all search documentation is uploaded and maintained in the appropriate AAEO SharePoint folder for that particular search, which is an important procedure for affirmative action compliance. The tab asks the user a series of required questions regarding whether or not various search documentation has been uploaded to the AAEO SharePoint search folder, and to provide a brief justification for any question they would answer “no” to. Additionally, there is another required field on the tab that asks the user if all applications have been transitioned to their appropriate workflow states and an optional field that seeks entries of any good faith efforts used in the search to recruit key groups as part of the university AAP (i.e. minorities and women, protected veterans, individuals with disabilities).

Lastly, in addition to serving as a helpful reminder for departments in their efforts for helping NIU achieve equal employment opportunity, this tab also will help AAEO in the timely review and approval of Hiring Proposals for Faculty and Staff searches.
