As noted in today’s employee announcements, the university’s policy on the State of Illinois Paid Leave Benefit program has been posted to NIU’s Policy Library and additional information is available on the Human Resource Services website.
We are reaching out to this group to make you aware that there will be changes coming to the hourly timesheet, salaried benefits usage form, and payroll summaries to record usage for this new benefit program as well as the Huskies Give Back program. As soon as these changes are finalized, we will share detailed information with this group. Once implemented, all employees will need to use the updated forms.
If your department uses a program or process to auto-populate employees’ time and benefits reporting forms, please reach out to Payroll as soon as possible to ensure that any required changes will be in place by the end of this month.
Finally, there will be employee groups reporting State of Illinois Paid Leave benefits that have never reported benefit usage time before. We will soon provide both you and these employees with information on how that reporting will be handled.
We will continue to keep you updated as we work towards implementation by the end of the month.
