Human Resource Services is pleased to announce that retirement counselors from the State Universities Retirement System (SURS) will performing on campus counseling on March 26 and 27 in the Holmes Student Center (room to be confirmed once appointment is scheduled).
SURS individual counseling eligibility guidelines, procedures for schedule appointments, and other important information relative to retirement counseling is available on the SURS website.
SURS is now scheduling appointments for on campus individual retirement counseling on the dates listed above and the available appointments are expected to fill quickly. Once these specific appointments are filled, employees will still be able to schedule telephone, virtual (via Microsoft Teams), in- person appointments at the SURS Champaign offices, and there are also limited appointments available at the Naperville offices. SURS Members are limited to one retirement counseling appointment or written estimate every 12 months.

HRS has recently received many questions regarding retirement, the impact of the money purchase factor changes, and the Social Security changes. HRS will be hosting a few informational sessions on retirement and will soon provide additional information to campus on how to register for a session.
