Supervisor Session Follow Up (2/28/2024)

Colleagues,

I appreciate your understanding, as HRS canceled the Supervisor Session on February 26, 2024.

Below are a few updates I wanted to ensure you were aware of.

Great Colleges to Work For 2024 Survey

On March 18, 2024, employees will be asked to participate in the Great Colleges to Work For survey.  This will be the fifth year that the university participates.  Please encourage your employees to take the time to participate in the survey.  The data is critically important and useful to help improve the employee experience.  The survey will close on March 29, 2024.  Announcements and reminders will be sent throughout March.

Paid Leave for All Workers

The university is in the final steps of drafting the policy, which will be published on the Ethics & Compliance Office website for comment from the campus community.  Additionally, information for employees and supervisors will soon be posted on the HR website. At the March 2024 Supervisor Session, HRS will provide additional guidance and answer questions on how the new policy may be implemented locally.

Department Information Changes

HRS is soliciting department changes in the human resource and financial management systems.  These requests include creating new departments, inactivating dormant or outdated departments, processing department name changes and location changes, and updating cost center structure/location within the organizational structure/security tree (i.e., changes not accomplished through the Cost Center Information Form).  Business managers have been asked to submit change requests by March 1.  More information is available on the HRS News Blog.

Kuali Build Forms

HRS is continuing to focus on automation for our operations.  Beginning in March 2024, employees can begin to expect basic forms to be automated through the new online workflow tool, Kuali Build.  As these forms are released, we will communicate to the broader campus.  With our more complex workflows, we may call on you or your units’ employees to help provide feedback and test and confirm the workflow automation work as you’d like.

As always, thank you for your work for our students and university.

Go Huskies!
