Increment worksheets, reflecting eligible employees, will be electronically distributed around September 15th for allocation of the merit increase. Any issues involving security access to these worksheets can be resolved by sending an email to PeopleSoftSecurity@niu.edu. Notification of any discrepancies (e.g. who is an eligible employee) should be forwarded directly to Vicky Guzman at vguzman4@niu.edu as soon as possible and no later than close of business on September 24th. HRS will coordinate the resolution of discrepancies with divisional offices as necessary. You will be notified when the worksheets have been created and are available.

During the open edit period, a nightly process will run to record the input of salary increments. Completed and approved (at collegiate and divisional levels) increment worksheets must be submitted to HRS by close of business on October 13th.

Updated salary appointment notices will be available via self-service in the HR system for employees following the processing of the increment. The merit increments will be retroactive to August 16th.

As Article 24 of the UFA contract specifies, units should follow their departmental policies outlining merit allocations. Please recall from past processes that we use previous calendar year FSR information (in this case, 2024 FSRs) to inform merit allocations.

We appreciate your assistance with this salary increment processing schedule and with performing the worksheet verification process within the time frames that have been established.

Please share the information in this message with business managers as needed. If your UFA faculty members have questions about their merit increments or this process, chairs/deans should contact Academic Labor Relations (https://www.niu.edu/academicaffairs/academic-employee-labor-relations/index.shtml).
